I was in the middle of putting together Hardcore Weather this morning when the thunderstorms rumbled through the city. I lost power for about three hours so I was never able to finish the video. Oh well, it will be back tomorrow.
Rainfall today has been quite nice. Amounts have been close to an inch in many locations, with some spots as high as two inches. The rain continues to move through south central and southeast Oklahoma at this hour.
The OKC metro will be dry this evening, but rain chances stay in the forecast through the Memorial Day weekend. I expect scattered showers and thunderstorms to affect the state each of the next few days. While the risk of severe weather is low, you will still need to keep an eye out for lightning and heavy rain that could lead to flash flooding.
Since some of you will be boating this weekend remember that lake levels will be quite high in many locations and there will probably be a fair amount of debris in the water.
I need to finish up the details of my forecast now. Make sure you tune into Eyewitness News 5 at 5, 6, and 10 pm for the latest on our holiday weekend forecast.
