Here’s my latest thinking on the winter weather across Oklahoma Monday AM:
Discussion: Mainly after 6 pm Sunday, snow will move into the OK Panhandle and western OK. Snow will spread east during the evening, approaching the OKC metro shortly before midnight. Temperatures will fall to the low 30s Monday morning and we’re expecting snow to mix with sleet and freezing rain for your Monday morning commute. Much of central OK will be dealing with this mix. Roads WILL be slick Monday AM, especially bridges and overpasses. Isolated snow amounts up to 2” possible in the metro. The highest chance for accumulating snowfall will be from cities like Lawton and Duncan, up through OKC. This is not a snow storm, but icy conditions will make driving difficult during your commute. Higher liquid amounts of up to 0.50” in southeastern OK will aid in one-quarter inch of ice developing there. The precipitation should come to an end by 1 pm Monday.
