We officially made 100 degrees at Will Rogers Airport in Oklahoma City today! This would be the first time this year.
The Oklahoma Climate Survey has some interesting facts about 100 degree days in OKC:
-According to OCS records, there have been only 9 years that OKC has escaped 100 degree heat
-The average date to hit 100 degrees is July 8th.
-After July 29th, if OKC has not reached 100 degrees, the odds are less than 50% that it will that year.
Unfortunately, if you are looking for relief in the near future–it doesn’t look like it is going to happen anytime soon. There are signs a cold front may affect the state by the end of the coming weekend, so stay-tuned!
