Hurricane Preparedness Week

National Hurricane Preparedness week is this week!!  Although we are usually watching tropical activity from the sidelines, we sometimes get a remnant storm or circulation that we have to deal with here in Oklahoma.  The first “official” day of Hurricane season is June 1st, but we already have an area of disturbed weather in the Atlantic.

The white circle surrounds the area of circulation but most of the clouds you see to the right of it are associated with the circulation too.  This is a sub tropical low but it may continue to acquire tropical characteristics.  If it strengthens to the point of a tropical depression or even tropical storm, the name would be Alex.

We will be watching it, but this will likely not affect Oklahoma.
