Oklahoma is King!

Oklahoma is king… when it come to tornadoes. After a very slow start to the tornado season where states like North Carolina and Arkansas were outnumbering us. Oklahoma has come roaring back with an extremely busy last 2 weeks.

Our first tornado came during the middle of March when we had the EF-2 hit Hammon. April was very quiet, but May on the other hand was anything but.  So far this month, Oklahoma has had 54 tornadoes reported, allowing us to leap frog over Texas, Kansas, Arksansas and Mississippi to take the lead in the tornado reports and earn a first place rating in “STATES WITH MOST TORNADO REPORTS”.

It’s more like a log jam at the top here with Oklahoma, Texas and Mississippi all within 3 tornadoes of each other and could easily change over the next few days. But, at least for now, we can officially say that Oklahoma is king when it comes to tornadoes.
