The Shortest Night!

Welcome to the day before summer, or, what I will see as the shortest night of the entire year. Actually, tonight and tomorrow night will see roughly the same amount of darkness. Sunset tonight and tomorrow will be at 8:49pm. Basically, we’ll see 14 hours 33 minutes and 31 seconds of daylight. At the same time, the sun will be at it’s highest angle in the sky, 78 degrees overhead. Starting Tuesday, the sun begins to move south on the horizon and thus, our days will start to get shorter. Tuesday night will see our night last 2 seconds longer than it will tonight. It will continue this trend all the way until December 22nd when the sun will set at 5:22pm with a sun angle at 31 degrees above the horizon.
