Heat Advisory vs. Excessive Heat Warning

If you have been watching the news, then you are well aware that Oklahoma City is under a HEAT ADVISORY while Tulsa is under an EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING. So, what is the difference? While they both take into account overnight low temperatures in the mid 70s. It’s really what happens with the humidity that determines whether we are under a heat advisory or an excessive heat warning. Here is how it breaks down.

I think we may struggle to reach the 105 degree heat index today as drier air is moving in from Southwest Oklahoma.
