Heavy Rain Returns

As we mentioned a few days ago, the threat for heavy rain will return tonight as we track a cold front moving into the region. Some of the models have backed off on the heavy rain potential while others still show the possibility of bringing in 1-3 inches here and there. However, what makes this front different from the front we had 2 weeks ago that flooded Oklahoma City will be the fact that this front will likely not stall out over Central Oklahoma but rather keep pushing south towards The Red River. We still could see a few bursts of heavy rainfall for Central Oklahoma, but I expect that with the continued push to the south, the front will take the heaviest of the rain towards Southern Oklahoma and North Texas. Heavy rain may be a good thing though… as you can see, Oklahoma is starting to see the drought return…
