Dry To The Point Of Drought?

Not yet!  Why?  Well one reason is June..and the other reason is July.  Two months where rainfall totals were not only above average but fairly impressive.  There are a few locations that have missed out on the rain.  Northwest Oklahoma and Southeast Oklahoma are two areas that are being defined as Abnormally Dry by the U.S. Drought Monitor.  Having said all that, it has certainly been a dry stretch.  So far in August…nothing.  That was after a dry end to July as well.  August is considered the 5th driest month so only about 3 inches is expected anyway.  Here is a look at some recent stats.
