October-Like In The Panhandle

As I type this, the temperature in OKC is in the low 90s, but it feels more like fall in the panhandle.  A combination of clouds and rain have kept temperatures in the 60s and 70s out there.  The rainfall since midnight has been quite impressive as well.  Take a look:

The system that is producing the rain will slowly move east tonight and tomorrow giving a chance of showers and storms to much of the state.  The highest chances will be northern Oklahoma into Kansas tonight into tomorrow.  While no organized severe weather is expected, a couple of storms could produce some strong winds and heavy rain.  The best chance for rain in OKC will tonight through tomorrow.

Dry and hotter weather will return Wednesday through Friday with highs back in the upper 90s to near 100.  The computer models hint at a chance of a couple of storms Friday night into Saturday morning, but chances are on the low side.

In the meantime, we’ll just have to be happy for our friends in the panhandle who are enjoying a nice cool down with some much needed rain.
