Heavy Rain and a Few Weak Tornadoes

What was left of Hermine certainly packed a punch in parts of the state over the last few days. Heavy rains fell in many areas of south-central and east-central Oklahoma. There were some reports of localized flooding, but for most of us, the rain was extremely beneficial. Here’s a look at the rainfall:

Will Rogers came in at 1.43″. Most of the metro was in the 1-2″ range. Down in Washington, they saw nearly 5 1/2 inches. On the East side of the state, Stigler saw over 11″.

Of course, severe weather also came with Hermine. The severe weather was localized to south-central Oklahoma on Wednesday. As happens sometimes with inland tropical systems, there were some weak, brief tornadoes produce. Three of them were in Oklahoma.

I can tell you that the preliminary ratings are in for these tornadoes. For The Colbert tornado-EF1, Marietta-EF0, Lone Grove-EF0. There was some damage near Colbert with the strongest tornado, and just minor damage northwest of Lone Grove.
