Update: Today’s Severe Threat

The Storm Predition Center has updated the risk for severe weather today. The changes include pushing the southern limits of the risk to the north. Originally, it went to Oklahoma County, now, it’s north towards Payne County.

Hail and Winds would be the main risk, with storms forming way late. There is a small tornado threat, though it appears the tornado risk will be more so for Kansas than Oklahoma. What I see happening is that storms will backbuild into the state from Kansas as this front moves through.

  1. I’m not sure if you have seen the lightening going on in the Edmond area, but I live in Midwest City, and I can see it from my back yard, and it’s pretty impressive.
