Still Looking at Storm Chances

We continue to be in a somewhat unsettled weather pattern for the next couple of days. A saturated, warm airmass will sit on top of us, and although there is no large-scale focusing mechanism, storms should once again fire up on Wednesday afternoon. Though there isn’t a great chance in any one area, I’d still bring the umbrellas to work.

I would definitely have them on Thursday. A cold front will move through, helping to enhance the chance for rain. The front should enter northern Oklahoma in the morning, and be through the metro by early afternoon.

Chances will be highest in northern, and then central Oklahoma. I will say this, the models have been bringing the rain chances down with the front, some say less that 10%. I won’t go that far, but I’ll knock em down a category to 30%. Some stronger storms may also fire up along the front, producing heavy rain and gusty winds.

  1. Despite all the rains and the cooling trend, the forecasts still call for 90s. 😦
