Hurricane Season Comes To A Close

It was an active season for the Atlantic, but the U.S. managed to luck out this year. Each line refers to a separate storm.  Notice how many of them curve back out to the Atlantic.  There were 19 named storms and 12 Hurricanes.  This year actually ties with years 1887 and 1995  as the 3rd most active Season on record.  Hard to believe that the US didn’t see any Hurricanes make landfall with that much activity!!  La Nina provided us with conditions to enhance development but the Jetstream helped to deflect storms away from land.  No complaints here.

  1. Hi Sarah, hope you have a nice Thanksgiving with your family. I have completely forgotten that it was the hurricane season. No hurricane! At least, none that were sensational news to make landfall. Sarah, can you bring us some white Christmas?
