Wednesday Evening Update….Rain More Likely Than Snow

Some of the new models are in and they show the system to our west moving this way.  I still expect much of Thursday to be dry, but some drizzle will develop by late afternoon in southwest Oklahoma.  The moisture will overspread the state Thursday night with rain likely in most areas.  It’s possible that northwest Oklahoma could see a rain snow mix Thursday night into Friday morning.

The new models are favoring more in the way of rain, as opposed to snow.  I believe the best chance of a rain/snow mix will be northern Oklahoma, with little if any accumulation.  It looks like most, if not all of the precipitation should end by Friday afternoon in central Oklahoma.

If there are any travel problems they will be to our north in places like Iowa and Missouri for late Thursday into Friday, and then east of here for Christmas Day.

Christmas Day here will be cold and dry with a brisk north wind and highs in the 30s and 40s.
