How Much Rain?

We know there is a drought, but how much rain do we need to get OUT of the drought?

Well this is measured by the severity of the current drought, the length of the drought and the dryness of the ground.  With this information, the Palmer Index is determined.  It has become the semi-official way of determining drought severity.

Here is a look at the drought conditions for Oklahoma and the region.

Taking this information into consideration, one can come up with an estimate of how much rain we need to exit the drought situation.

For most of us, 3-6 inches is needed at the very least.
