A Cautious Optimism About Rain In Oklahoma

It’s still several days away, but I remain cautiously optimistic about rainfall chances in Oklahoma later this week.  Specifically Friday night through Sunday offers us the best chances of seeing much-needed rainfall.  Here is a QPF (quantitative precipitation forecast) map for the next five days, ending Saturday morning:

Notice the band of rainfall accumulations in western Oklahoma approaching four inches!  Western Oklahoma has been especially hard hit by the drought.  With farmers putting in their winter wheat crops, this rainfall would be a God send.  Given the fact that it is only Monday, I’m still a bit nervous that something could go wrong with this forecast.  However, the models have been somewhat consistent in showing this rain.

Keep your fingers crossed, pray, and hope for the best.
