Dreaming of a White Christmas?

I know for some of you, this is still a touchy subject considering what happened 2 years ago. But, for many, we still do enjoy a White Christmas. So, what are the odds we could see a White Christmas? For weather purposes, we consider a White Christmas as having at least 1 inch of snow on the ground on Christmas Morning. It doesn’t have to snow on Christmas, there just has to be snow on the ground that morning.

Since records have been kept, there have been 12 years where there was a trace of snow on the ground CHristmas morning, making the percent around 10. (10%). But, since we need an inch of snow at least on the ground, only 6 times since records have been kept has this happened. Making the likelyhood of a White Christmas around 5% or less. Not good, but funky things do happen and if past history is any indicator of future performance, then just about anything is possible here in Oklahoma any given year.
