Dry Winter Common?

Many of you know this winter has been extremely dry.  Only a trace of snow has been recorded so far this season but is this common?

Turns out, it is not that common, but there are years where Oklahoma City has only seen a trace of snow.  You have to go back to the 1930s though.  The years 1931-1932 and 1934-1935 brought a trace to the metro.

The average annual snowfall for Oklahoma City is 7.8″ dating 1981-2010.  This is down from the old average of 9.2″ dating 1971-2000.
