Drought Update

The good news first, the drought did not get any worse in the last week. The bad news, it didn’t improve either. But, the good news will over power the bad news here … there’s a lot of rain in the forecast and I thus see major changes coming to this map for next week. As is, some areas could see 1-3 inches of rain across the state. 3 inches in March… nice!

The map above does show most of Oklahoma still dealing with some drought conditions and much of Eastern and Southeastern Oklahoma now drought-free. I am actually very impressed with our winter rainfall given the fact that this is usually the driest time of the year.

What will be nice is to see how much this map changes by next week.

  1. I guess you’d want the bad news, Damon. One of the docs gave me a 50/50 chance of reaching 30. I’m 27 now (more like 18 still). It doesn’t look good. 😦
